About the course

This course is aimed at complete beginners to 3D Printing, who want to be able to understand the technology, select basic materials, download and slice pre-set designs ready for print.

To set up from scratch a good quality hobby grade FDM printer.

Calibration techniques, the does and don’ts of basic set up.

Material selection and correctly loading into the machines, including purging old filaments.

Downloading pre-existing 3D CAD files, and converting them to a usable state for slicing software such as CURA, CREALITY SLICER ETC.

Product quality settings, how to change these settings for speed or finished surface quality.

Basic maintenance.

This course should allow a complete novice the confidence to purchase, set up and start to print basic pre-existing parts for fun and real world engineering use.
