About the course
At the Advanced Diploma, you’ll master more complex financial processes, including final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, reports and returns and professional ethics. The purpose of this qualification is to ensure that students are well prepared to progress into a career in business, finance or professional accountancy, or into further education. Students will learn and master financial processes including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping and final accounts. They will also understand business issues regarding value added tax (VAT), which may be known by another name in other countries) issues in business, management accounting costing techniques and ethical practices for accountants. This qualification further delivers software skills through spreadsheet training for accounting. Course Content Advanced Bookkeeping Final Accounts Preparation Management Accounting: Costing Ethics for Accounting Indirect Tax Spreadsheet for Accounting Portfolio and Reflective Discussion A portfolio and reflective discussion which will comprise a range of evidence produced in the work-place to show that the Apprentice has met the knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed in the standard. The reflective discussion will be a structured interview to examine this evidence and the learner journey in more detail only - this will be externally assessed by AAT.
Entry requirements
GCSE or Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English. Successful completion of the Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting, or the undertaking of a Trade Test for those with a equivalent qualification or experience. .

Assessment
In order to complete the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting. Students will be required to complete 5 modules, where for each module: 70%-79% - Pass 80%-89% - Merit 90%-100% - Distinction A resit fee is applicable if an exam is not successfully passed. The 5 modules at AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting include: Advanced Bookkeeping Final Accounts Preparation Management Accounting: Costing Advanced Diploma Synoptic Assessment Indirect Tax Upon completion and passing of each module, students will receive either an overall Pass, Merit or Distinction to show the acievement of the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting
