About the course
This course allows you to gain an understanding of prevalent mental health problems and how to work or interact with individuals with them.
You will have the opportunity to learn what mental health is, including learning to understand stress, anxiety and phobias. Focus will also be on conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The curriculum also covers: Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dementia and eating disorders along with, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Assessment
On this course, you will be regularly assessed and will
complete questions to demonstrate your acquired knowledge and skills. Knowledge
questions are issued as the formal assessment for each unit and will be
completed through your online learning platform. For each unit, clear deadlines
are provided to ensure timely completion of your course. You will receive feedback
on each unit from your expert tutor, and you will need to pass all 13 units of
the course and ensure your answers to the questions meet the required
assessment criteria.
Careers & Progression
Progression from this Level 2 course could be to a Children and Young People's Mental Health course or a level 2 Counselling skills course. There is also opportunity to progress to a Children and Young People's course or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course.
