About the course
You will have a comprehensive introduction to autism, covering what is meant by ‘autism’, theories, exploring how autism develops and methods of working with those affected. Discover common misconceptions surrounding autism and conditions that develop alongside autism. Using a person-centred approach to support autistic individuals This unit covers the method of utilising a person-centred approach in order to support autistic individuals, incorporating the unique preferences and needs of the individual.

Unit 1 - Signs, Indicators and Diagnosis of Autism
Unit 2 - Sources of Information, Support, Legislation and Guidance Relevant to Autism
Unit 3 - Living with Autism

Assessment
On this course you will be assessed regularly and will complete knowledge questions to demonstrate your acquired knowledge and skills. For each unit a set of knowledge questions are issued as the formal assessment for that unit. You complete this through the online learning platform and receive written feedback from our expert tutor. There is the option to complete this paper based should it be required. You will need to pass all units and ensure your answers to the questions meet the required assessment criteria
