Conversely, a child’s attitude can be almost typified by constant disruptiveness and aggression. But it’s not always obvious what is driving the behaviour!

Disabilities - It is fairly common for a child with a learning difficulty to display behaviour that challenges, and this is even more common among children with severe disabilities.

Model good behaviour- Based on clear and specific communication, set standards for children about the way you expect them to behave.. Recognise and celebrate good behaviour - Telling them “Well done!”, and doing so in front of other children, will demonstrate that positive behaviour is rewarded.

Communicate misbehaviour with parents - Maintaining frequent and open communication with parents is key to addressing behaviour.
