About the course

This course is for electricians who wish to carry out periodic testing of electrical installations and issue electrical installation condition reports. This evening course will include periodic testing and inspection of electrical installations. You will cover safe isolation, condition reporting requirements, periodic inspection, testing, interpreting test results and certification. The course will be delivered through a mixture of workshop and theory sessions in our state-of-the-art dedicated workshops specifically created for the testing and inspection of electrical faults. On successful completion of the course you will be able to carry out periodic testing and issue electrical condition reports to ensure they comply with British Standards.

  • To perform initial verification of new electrical installations.
  • To perform periodic inspection and testing of existing installations.
  • The methodologies for inspection and testing as outlined in the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • To certify and report on electrical installations after inspection.

Entry requirements

Delegates must hold a Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Installation to enrol on this course.

Assessment

You will be assessed by a practical assessment, an open book written exam and written assignments. 

Careers & Progression

On successful completion of this course you may progress to to other EAL qualifications including 18th Edition Requirements for Electrical Installation. This will support your career by allowing you to carry out periodic testing and inspection on site.
